United Airlines’ top legal executive takes on PR chief role
Following the damaging fallout from United Airlines’ infamous dragging incident, the carrier has strengthened its communications leadership team.
General counsel Brett Hart has been brought in to head up global communications in the newly created role of chief administrative officer.
He remains EVP and general counsel.
Harts adds communications to his already wide-ranging responsibilities which include legal affairs, corporate real estate, security, and government and regulatory affairs.
SVP of corporate communications Jim Olson now reports to Hart.
Hart was United’s acting CEO when Oscar Muniz suffered a heart attack in late 2015.
The airline also announced two more executive changes.
Chief information officer Linda Jojo becomes EVP of technology and chief digital officer, and will lead the strategy and development of United’s mobile app and web e-commerce functions.
Chief revenue officer Andrew Nocella becomes CCO and will have the additional responsibilities of marketing and overseeing the MileagePlus loyalty program.
