United grounded 25 jets after forgetting inspections
United Airlines was forced to ground about 25 of its Boeing 777-200 planes after forgetting to have them undergo planned inspections.
It realized they had missed scheduled checks of the front edges of the wings.
The FAA said United reported the oversight, and the FAA is investigating why it happened.
United had to cancel flights earlier this week because of the grounded aircraft.
United said 10 of the planes had inspections and is now working with the FAA to have the rest checked and back in the air within the next two weeks.
