United launching new LA-Singapore route

Tuesday, 02 Jun, 2017 0

United Airlines is launching a new long haul flight linking Los Angeles to Singapore.

The 15-hour daily flight will start on October 29 this year and will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets.

United touts it as the longest direct flight out of the US at 14,000km.

It is a marginally longer distance than United’s Singapore-San Francisco flights.

However it shaves nearly two hours off the travel time for LA customers who will no longer have to transit at San Francisco.

It marks a ‘firm commitment to making travel between Singapore and the United States and beyond more convenient and enjoyable for our customers,’ said United’s vice president of Atlantic and Pacific Sales Marcel Fuchs.

When the new LA-Singapore flights commence, United will scrap its Hong Kong-Singapore service.
