United sued by NFL player over in-flight sexual assault
United Airlines is being sued by an unnamed NFL player who says he was sexually harassed and assaulted by a female passenger.
The John Doe lawsuit claims United only intervened after the fourth complaint after multiple unwanted advances on the player.
The incident took place on February 10 during an overnight flight from Los Angeles to Newark.
According to a Tweet by the Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion, the suit alleges negligence on United’s part leading to sexual assault and sexual battery.
The suit claims the woman was intoxicated and ‘sexually harassed, assaulted, abused, and violated’ the player.
The complaint is seeking compensatory and punitive damages against the airline for the player and a second unnamed male companion listed as John Doe 2.
The second man was assaulted after the NFL player got up and ‘ran toward’ cabin crew.
At this point the woman was removed to another seat and the two men were given $150 vouchers, TMZ reports.
