Universal planning first UK theme park
Theme park giant Universal is planning a theme park on Harry Potter’s home turf.
Universal Studios has reportedly secured land north of London.
A Universal Destinations and Experiences spokesperson has told Sky News the company is ‘at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort’.
The potentially site is at Bedford, which is less than one hour from London.
“It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and local community.”
It would be the company’s first major undertaking in the UK.
There are Universal Studios in Japan and Singapore and a new park in Beijing.
It has also two new US parks in the works – Epic Universe in Orlando and Universal Kids in Frisco, Texas.
