Unruly passenger arrested for assault
An unruly passenger was arrested after a meltdown saw him assault an airline employee.
Cody Benjamin Lovins, 47, of Montgomery, TX is facing battery charges.
He became angry after being asked to move from his assigned seat, according to a passenger who witnessed the incident.
A gate attendant came on board the flight at San Francisco International Airport to presumably rectify the seating issue.
“He ran toward where the pilot was, where the emergency exit doors are, and attempted to open it,” passenger Naya Jimenez told local media.
Jiminez also posted video of the incident.
The unruly passenger then tried to jump off the plane but cabin crew managed to restrain him.
United Airlines confirmed a ‘disruptive’ passenger assaulted a customer service employee.
The airline has banned Lovins.
“This customer’s behavior was unacceptable,” the airline said.
