UNWTO Silk road event for Japan
World Tourism Day event to be held at JATA Tokyo
UNWTO will hold a special World Tourism Day Silk Road event at JATA this year in Tokyo.
Over the years, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has been working together with its Member States to promote the ancient Silk Road as a vehicle for sustainable tourism development, cultural diversity, peace and international cooperation.
At this year’s edition of JATA Tokyo, UNWTO will hold a special World Tourism Day event, ‘Tourism Linking Cultures on the Silk Road’ on 30 September 2011.
The event programme will include an industry seminar focusing on best practise in cultural diversity and tourism on the Silk Road, followed by a special World Tourism Day networking cocktail.
The event will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to meet and exchange best practices on cultural tourism on the Silk Road at Japan’s major tourism fair.
It is being co-organised by the UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific, with the support of the JATA Tourism Forum and Travel Showcase.
