US lifts carry-on laptop ban on Saudi flights
A ban on electronic devices in cabins on Saudi Arabian Airlines flights to the US has been lifted, according to the airline.
It says its two hub airports from where it flies to the US have received clearance from the US Department of Homeland Security.
Riyadh’s King Khalid airport and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah are the last of 10 airports to have the ban lifted.
It was imposed in March on flights from eight mostly Muslim destinations due to fears terrorists were planning to smuggle bans on board in laptops or other electronic devices.
However, airlines and airports have been working with the US to tighten security to have the ban lifted.
