US rail route was next al-Qaeda target
A US rail route was set to be the next target of al-Qaeda, according to documents found at Osama Bin Laden’s Pakistan home.
Papers found at his hideout suggest that the terrorist group planned to derail a train so that it would fall into a valley, or from a bridge, according to reports in the Associated Press.
Large-scale attacks were planned for the US in big cities and on major anniversaries, including the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, according to the report.
US officials are examining documents, computers, and DVDs found at the house where Bin Laden is believed to have been hiding for up to six years before he was shot by US security forces earlier this week.
