US tourists fined, banned for damaging Rome’s Spanish Steps
Two American tourists were banned and fined after causing €25,000 damage at Rome’s iconic Spanish Steps.
A woman threw an e-scooter down the steps after her companion had ridden down on his e-scooter.
They were fined €400 each after the late night incident was filmed and they were traced by police.
It came only two weeks after a Saudi Arabian visitor drove a Maserati down the steps.
Sitting on the Spanish Steps was banned in 2018.
