Victoria shows off to NZ
About 35 of Victoria’s premier tourism operators promoted their ventures during an Australian trade event in New Zealand on the weekend.
Accommodation providers, tourist attractions, tour operators and regional tourism organisations took part in Oz Talk 2006 in Auckland.
More than 280 New Zealand reservation agents attended the event.
“This was an opportunity to showcase our products directly to agents who advise New Zealand holiday makers on what to do and where to go,” Victorian Tourism Minister John Pandazopoulos said.
The Minister said New Zealand was Victoria’s number one international tourism market, with high repeat visitation.
Mr Pandazapoulos said the challenge was to keep providing new reasons for New Zealanders to return.
“New products, or updated ones, are important and will keep Victoria fresh in New Zealand agent’s minds,” Mr Pandazopoulos said.
“International visitors tend to stay longer and spend more, so capitalising on the international tourism market is a key priority.”
