Vietjet cutting fares for domestic tours
Low cost carrier Vietjet has inked a partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association in a move to spur tourism growth.
It is cutting fares by up to 50% on flights for tours operated by domestic agencies affiliated to the Association.
A Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association official said air fares account for about 50% of a tour’s total fee and this agreement with domestic tourism agencies would make them more competitive.
This year Vietnam is promoting its heritage sites nationwide and hopes cheaper tours will translate to more tourist traffic in Vietnam’s lesser known destinations.
Vietjet is launching two new domestic routes from HCMC in April and May – Ho Chi Minh City – Chu Lai and Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi.
Fast growing Vietjet also flies internationally to Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Cambodia and China.
