Vietnam airline startup gets approval

A new Vietnam based airline startup has got the green light.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways, a division of resorts and theme parks developer Sun Group, has been approved for an air operator license.
The startup plans to operate schedule passenger and charter flights connecting main tourism regions in Vietnam and overseas.
It is backed with an initial VND2.5 trillion ($96 million) capital.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways says it is targeting a fleet size of more than 30 aircraft by 2030.
Its inaugural flight is planned for late 2025 linking the tourist island of Phu Quoc with domestic and international cities.
The parent company also owns Sun Air, a private jet operator.
