Vietnam Airlines begins Bali, Phuket flights next month
Vietnam Airlines will start flights to two of Southeast Asia’s top island hotspots in October.
Flights to Bali and Phuket will start on October 27, the airline confirmed.
VN will fly to Phuket three times a week and to Bali five times a week from Ho Chi Minh City.
The Bali route expands to daily flights from March next year when operational restrictions at Bali’s Denpasar Airport will be lifted.
It becomes the second Indonesian route after Ho Chi Minh City-Jakarta flights were launched back in 2012.
The routes will cater to growing demand for leisure travel across the ASEAN region for Vietnamese travellers, which is the second fastest growing outbound market.
It is forecast to post annual growth of about 9.5% through 2021, with up to 7.5 million Vietnamese travellers taking overseas trips.
The routes will also facilitate easier connections for tropical beach holidays for travellers from across major markets in Europe, Japan and South Korea, said Le Hong Ha, deputy director of Vietnam Airlines.
