Vietnam tourism bounces back
The number of international tourists to Vietnam increased 34.2 per cent year-on-year in the first nine months of this year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
The administration attributes most of the increase to economic recovery, reported the Vietnam News Service.
The number of Chinese tourists lifted 89.2 per cent in the first nine months against the same months of last year to 676,000.
The number of South Koreans increased 29.4 per cent to 365,000; Japanese 18.7 per cent to 318,000 and American 2.4 per cent to 325,000.
Last year, international tourists to Vietnam decreased by 10 per cent year-on-year due to the economic crisis
Nguyen The Hung, an official in Vietnam‘s Ministry of Planning and Investment, speaking at an ASEAN Tourism Investment Forum in HCM City this week, said the country should continue to review investment and business laws and policies to ease cumbersome procedures and attract more investors.
