Vikings hit Sydney
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Nordic Travel last Thusday night hosted 80 Sydney agents for an exclusive viewing of the new Vikings exhibition on its opening day at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Nordic Travel launched its 2006 brochure and new tour options, including the new ‘In the Wake of the Vikings’ tour. SAS previewed the upgraded Economy Extra and Business class products it will introduce in early 2006.
SAS is a sponsor of Vikings and sees the exhibition as an ideal opportunity to promote Scandinavia’s Viking heritage. Last night’s guests enjoyed learning about the Vikings’ many achievements and incredible voyages far from their homelands without so much as a compass.
More than 1000 years later, people are still fascinated with the Viking way of life and SAS is the natural choice to visit Scandinavia’s amazingly well preserved Viking ships and settlements.
SAS has fares from Australia to Copenhagen, Denmark, the heart of Viking territory and the hub of SAS. From Copenhagen connect to over 75 destinations in Europe. SAS fares to Europe start from $1699pp for economy, $2699 for Economy Extra Combination, $3299 for Business Combination and a new Business Class special from $5150pp. Prices are nett excluding taxes.
Nordic Travel’s ‘Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, Russia, the Baltics, High Arctic and North Pole’ brochure includes a new tour that will be escorted by the Director of the Australian National Maritime Museum Mary-Louise Williams. The tour ‘In the Wake of the Vikings’ departs 3 August 2006 flying Scandinavian Airlines and includes four weeks exploring the Viking history and best sights of Iceland, South Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
