Virgin America announces Los Angeles to Hawaii flights

Tuesday, 03 Feb, 2016 0
Virgin America is expanding its Hawaii service with the launch of daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu and Maui from May.

It follows the recent start of flights to Hawaii from San Francisco.

Virgin will link LAX with Honolulu beginning May 5, and then to Kahului, Maui from June 14.

"Since we launched our Hawaii service last year, we’ve seen firsthand why it is one of the most popular leisure destinations among West Coast travelers," said Virgin America CEO David Cush.

"The guest response to our new routes has been extremely positive, which is why we are so pleased to announce that we are expanding our nonstop service to the Los Angeles market."

Flights will be operated with Virgin’s new fuel efficient Airbus A320.

Cush said Hawaii is the ‘most wanted’ destination for the airline’s Elevate loyalty members.

The Hawaii Tourism Authority estimates Virgin’s Los Angeles and San Francisco routes will generate an extra $138.6 million a year in visitor spending for the Aloha state.
