Virgin Atlantic gets new Airbus aircraft

Virgin Atlantic has released a special time-lapse video showing its new Airbus A330-200 aircraft being given the Virgin livery.

Daydream Believer (G-VMNK) arrived into Gatwick this week for finishing touches before it enters into service in March 2018.

Over the next few weeks Scarlett O’Hara (G-VWND) and Honky Tonk Woman (G-VMIK) will also join the fleet with Strawberry Fields (G-VLNM) joining in spring 2018.

The 287-seater planes are fully Wi-Fi enabled and will initially operate flights from Manchester to New York, Boston, San Francisco and Barbados.

They offer 19 fully flat beds in Upper Class with three new seat styles – the Love Suite, the Freedom Solo Suite, and the Corner Solo Suite – all with direct aisle access.

There are also 46 extra leg room economy seats and 222 economy seats.

Phil Maher, EVP operations, said: "These aircraft will add resilience to our flying programme in light of an industry wide shortage of Trent 1000 engines used on our Boeing 787 aircraft."
