Virgin looks to billion dollar Airbus deal
Virgin Atlantic is looking at a deal with Airbus for 12 A350s with a list price of $4.3 billion, say reports.
The UK-based airline is expected to buy nine of the planes and take three from leasing firms, reports Bloomberg.
The airline is evaluating the best aircraft to replace its 747s at Gatwick with more fuel-efficient jets.
A spokesman for Virgin Atlantic said: "We are currently evaluating our future leisure fleet requirements to ensure that any new aircraft we introduce will provide the best possible outcome for our customers and our business.
"We will make an announcement once we have completed this process and can confirm a decision."
