Virgin plans luxury cruise venture
Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group is planning to enter the cruise market, according to reports.
The company is believed to be weighing up the possibility of entering the luxury end of the sector.
Virgin is reported to have formed a team in Flordia to draw up plans for voyages in and around Florida and the Caribbean, with a final decision due before Chrsitmas.
Branson was quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: “Miami is obviously the centre of cruises, but we would do it differently to any cruise ship travelling today.”
Virgin Group has reportedly receved approaches from cruise companies about getting involved in the industry.
