Virgin’s value has plunged since referendum, says Branson
Sir Richard Branson says his Virgin Group has lost a third of its value since Britain voted for Brexit and claims the UK is ‘heading for disaster’.
He said a business deal that would have created 3,000 jobs collapsed following Friday’s announcement that the electorate had voted to leave the European Union, adding Leave campaigners did not realise ‘what a mess’ the move would make.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Sir Richard said: "We’re not any worse than anybody else, but I suspect we’ve lost a third of our value which is dreadful for people in the workplace.
"We were about to do a very big deal, we cancelled that deal, that would have involved 3,000 jobs, and that’s happening all over the country."
He said people who voted to leave did so without having all the facts and he called for a second referendum.
