Visit Central Florida kicks off extended sponsorship with Swansea City AFC
Visit Central Florida hopes to net a larger slice of the UK market with an extended football sponsorship partnership.
The DMO will continue to have a presence during the 2023-24 EFL season as the official destination partner of Swansea City AFC.
The VCF logo will be visible on the Swans kit as an arm sleeve sponsor.
“Polk County has a historic connection with the UK, which today remains one of our best international markets,” said Mark Jackson, the Director of Visit Central Florida.
“Central Florida, with the Florida Youth Soccer Association based in Polk County, and being home to Swan City FC, is a hotbed of Florida soccer.”
“We’re thrilled to continue supporting Swansea City.”
As part of the partnership, Visit Central Florida will offer a lucky Swans fan a competition prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Lakeland.
The prize includes a five-night stay, tickets to LEGOLAND, and Bok Tower Gardens.
VCF also hopes to bring the club to Florida to train in the future.
Lee Merrells, head of partnerships at Swansea City, said: “We are delighted to have agreed to another season-long partnership with Visit Central Florida.”
“This is a partnership that demonstrates that this is a football club that attracts global interest and attention, particularly in the US.”
“We are grateful to Visit Central Florida for their support.”
Lakeland, Polk County’s largest city, is known as the Swan City.
Queen Elizabeth II gifted the city two swans in 1957.
Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing (Visit Central Florida) is the official destination marketing organization for Polk County, Florida.
