VisitBritain urges participation in industry forums
UK travel organisations are being urged to sign up for Euro and Long Haul forums being run by VisitBritain in London in September
The annual events attracted more than 170 public and commercial organisations last year to hear presentations about business and leisure tourism across 36 countries. Businesses discussed cost-effective ways of drawing the attention of overseas travel agents, operators, media and consumers.
This year’s Euroforum takes place on September 18, followed the next day by the Long Haul Forum, both at the Langham Hotel in the capital. The deadline to register is August 25.
Attendees will find out about the tourist office’s local and global campaigns for all budgets as well as online and traditional marketing initiatives, such as advertising, direct mail, brochures, travel trade, press and consumer newsletters, media meetings, events and exhibitions.
Each event costs £100 plus VAT to attend, including a networking reception on September 18.
VisitBritain director of Britain International Torvald de Coverly Veale said: “The two days of the international fora are the best opportunity for businesses to meet face to face with all our overseas managers and key London staff. While London remains the gateway to many of our regions, access to regional airports continues to increase, and we need businesses to tell us – and international consumers – about the quality experiences that await them once they leave the airport.
“With international visitors to the UK continuing to set new records year after year, if you only invest in one event this year to help you develop your inbound tourism business, this is it.”
