Volcanic ash disrupts Bali flights again

It is a case of déjà vu again for Australian travellers as flights to Bali were grounded due to more volcanic activity on neighbouring Lombok.
Lombok’s 3,700-metre high Mount Rinjani began spewing volcanic ash on Tuesday which was described as ‘huge’ by meteorologists.
An ash cloud measuring a height of 2,000 metres was recorded by the Nusa Tenggara Barat Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).
Tigerair said Wednesday morning flights were cancelled but said flights would likely resume today based on the latest weather information.
Jetstar said it already cancelled three flights from Australia to Bali and an additional four flights from Bali.
"We will always put safety before schedule and will only commence flying when it is safe to do so," Jetstar said in a statement.
Jetstar also plans to resume service but delays are likely due to the current backlog of stranded passengers.
"We are looking at what additional flights can be scheduled to get people to their destinations. We will provide customers an update later today," Jetstar said in a statement.
"As it is school holidays our whole network is extremely busy, so it will take us some time to get everyone on their way.
