W Hotels adding second Bali location
Marriott International’s W Hotels brand is adding a second Bali location.
In a departure away from swanky urban hotels and beach resorts, W Hotels is heading to the undulating rice fields of Bali’s art and cultural hub, Ubud.
W Hotels Worldwide is partnering with Indonesia’s Ruang Teknik Group to develop W Bali – Ubud, which will have 100 keys including 10 private pool villas and a signature EWOW suite.
The hotel is perched on a hilltop overlooking Tanggayuda Valley.
Amenities planned for W Bali – Ubud include two pools, a signature AWAY Spa, a fitness centre, and multiple bars and restaurants.
Meetings and events, including weddings, can be catered for in dedicated indoor and outdoor function spaces.
It is slated to open next year.
"W Bali – Ubud is an exciting next step for us. We are applying a unique, vibrant sensibility to this hotel, one that has not been seen before on the island. W Bali – Ubud will combine the brand’s boundary-breaking approach to design with the rich spiritual and artistic influences of Ubud," said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, W Hotels Worldwide.
The hotel is situated within easy reach of a host of central Bali attractions and activities, including white water rafting, Ubud’s Sacred Monkey Forest and the town’s hundreds of art boutiques and galleries.
It is about one hour’s drive to Bali-Denpasar Airport.
The new hotel will join W Bali – Seminyak which opened on the Island of the Gods in 2010.
