W Hotels will check in to Melbourne in 2020 after the brand inked a deal to anchor the city’s landmark development Collins Arch.

The Marriott owned brand has partnered with Daiho Development Melbourne Pty Ltd and Cbus Property for a 293-room hotel.

The first W Hotel in Australia opens next year in Brisbane.

It will feature 40 suites, a bar and restaurant, spa, fitness centre and indoor heated pool.

"Located in the epicentre of the city, W Melbourne will embody the city’s creative spirit while showcasing the brand’s bold and energetic take on luxury," said Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide.

"It is a destination made for the W brand," he added.

"We’re extremely excited to be working with Daisho Development Melbourne Pty Ltd. and Cbus Property to bring a second W Hotel to Australia, said Rajeev Menon, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China) at Marriott International.

"Melbourne is one of Australia’s most beloved cultural hubs with a strong global tourism industry, making it the perfect setting for this innovative lifestyle brand."

Collins Arch is a A$1 billion mixed development comprising two towers linked at the top and will house premium office, retail and commercial space.
