TripAdvisor’s top ten list of the wackiest summer events in the US include everything from a “Humungus Fungus” Festival in Michigan to a national hollering festival in Spivey’s Corner, NC.

For those who want more:

—There’s the Gilroy Garlic Festival in (where else?) Gilroy, Calif., where food vendors include garlic ice cream; and the Barnesville Potato Days in Minnesota, where events include mashed potato wrestling.

—Prairie de Sac in Wisconsin features the Cow Chip Throw which each year attracts 40,000 people, some of whom are attempting to break the 248-foot-long record for throwing; the “Baby Food Festival” in Fremont, Mich., which is already home to the largest baby food factories in the US.

—Then, there’s the Heritage Duct Tape Festival in Avon, Ohio. Naturally enough, this is the “Duct Tape Capital of the World” featuring dozens of displays made from this common household product.
