Wave of kiosk self-service continues to roll
A whopping 86% of respondents to a survey said they are more likely to do business with a company that offers self-service. Another two thirds say self service technologies create a more positive perception of brands.
The survey was commissioned by NCR, which just unveiled a newly designed kiosk for hotel check-ins that allow users to check into hotels alone.
“For many travelers, the best service is self-service,” said Tania Ladic, NCR vice president of travel industry marketing, in a news release.
NCR’s new system will be rolled out in Hyatt Hotels and Resorts as part of the chain’s overall lobby redesign program, according to NCR.
Using new technology, the kiosks will be integrated into the registration counters at hotels and utilize touch-screen capability to help guests find their way and serve themselves in some common hotel services.
