Waves of theme cruises continue
Responding to a growing demand, Hurtigruten has created an expanded roster of theme cruises for next year that range from classical opera to polar explorations.
There are eight new themed cruises that also include voyages aimed at photographers, birders and anyone interested in astronomy. There’s also a “Norway’s Big Day Out” cruise that offers a look at that country’s culture.
“Early-booking prices on reservations made by Dec. 31, 2010, available on most voyages, offer savings of up to 20 percent and range from US$722 to $4,989 per person, double. Voyages booked after Dec. 31 range from $722 to $5,252; suites are priced higher,” said the company in a release.
Hurtigruten is known as a world leader in expedition cruising, sailing to many remote destinations, including Antarctica, Greenland and the Arctic’s Spitsbergen as well as year-round along Norway’s coast and Europe in the spring.
