WEXAS has become the third travel management company to join the Guild of Travel Management Companies in 2008.
WEXAS managing director Steve Allen said: "WEXAS Travel Management is a growing part of WEXAS’s business, specialising in small and medium-sized companies and organisations who appreciate the personal touch.
“As the company grows its business travel, it’s keen to become more involved in the sector and there is no better place to help shape and support the industry than through membership of the guild."
GTMC chairman Maurice Veronique welcomed WEXAS and said: “Membership of the GTMC is being seen as an increasingly vital requirement by any travel organisation with a travel management interest.
“The guild has a growing lobbying presence in Whitehall and Brussels and is now sharing best practice with the Institute of Travel Management and corporate clients.
“In addition through the guild’s Twenty/20 Group we are identifying and training the travel management leaders of tomorrow.
“The Guild of Travel Management Companies is now seen as the definitive voice of the travel management sector. In particular the activities of its working parties, such as the air transport group, which, in consultation with easyJet and the GDS community, created a beneficial solution for business travellers, travel management companies and airlines recently, is being seen as a crucial area of activity for TMCs.”
GTMC chief executive Philip Carlisle said: “WEXAS is a very well respected company with an innovative approach to business travel. I am delighted that they have recognised the benefits of GTMC membership and we look forward to their enthusiastic participation in guild activities.”
