WHERE THERE’S NO SMOKE – THERE’S HAPPY GUESTS

Mercure Hotel Perth re-launches with new look and smoke-free

August 4, 2008: The Mercure Hotel, in Irwin Street Perth is following the ever-growing trend of becoming totally smoke-free, and from July smoking will be banned in all hotel guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, function rooms and public areas.

Tough Western Australian legislation introduced in the past few years has meant that all internal food and beverage outlets are already non-smoking, however those still in desperate need of a gasp can light up in the al fresco area outside Hydrant Bar.

The Hotel has also recently undergone a massive refurbishment programme which has seen it boost its guest room inventory from 233 up to 239. With the final phase of the refurbishment nearing completion, all standard rooms and eight suites have been totally renewed and upgraded.

“Feedback from our clients has been outstanding,” says Rob Wiseman, General Manager of Mercure Hotel Perth.

“They love the new colours and décor. The feeling of style and value is very evident, and there is now the opportunity also to upgrade to a Privilege Room.”

The twenty one Privilege Rooms at Mercure Hotel Perth offer superior rooms and Executives Suites boasting Nespresso coffee machines, free bottled water, plus free internet access from September 1.

The 239-room Mercure Hotel Perth is centrally located in the CBD of Perth, and is also within strolling distance of the shopping malls, restaurant and entertainment precincts and tourist attractions along the Swan River and Esplanade.

Leisure facilities include: a heated rooftop pool, sauna and spa and a large, fully-equipped gym.

Tonic Bar in the lobby serves cocktails and offers the popular Grand Vins wine list, which showcases WA wines from regional wineries, all served by the glass or the bottle.

TEN Restaurant serves buffet breakfast and full service a la carte dinner in a cosy and comfortable environment, whilst Hydrant on Hay Café and Bar serves excellent coffees, drinks, and a choice of light meals and snacks.

Mercure Hotel Perth has special “re-opening rates” in the new rooms from $175.00 per room per night including buffet breakfast for two daily.
