Windstar Cruises says the msy Wind Star will leave Tahiti at the end of the year and begin sailing new itineraries in Costa Rica, the Panama Canal, the Mediterranean and the Greek Islands. “With a three-ship fleet, it’s important to change itineraries every few years to offer our guests new cruising destinations, “explained Tom Russell, vice president of marketing and sales for Windstar Cruises. Only 32 sailings remain in Tahiti. As a farewell, the company says it is offering new “Sail and Save” rates with air-inclusive cruise fares to and from Papeete from 78 North American gateways. Mr Russell said the company’s long-term plan is to return to Tahiti. It has had a ship based there year-round for almost three years. The last sailing is a 10-day New Year’s cruise departing Papeete on 28 December. –Report by David Wilkening–
