Wizz Air promises lower fares
Budget airline Wizz Air today promised lower fuel prices would lead to lower fares as it announced a 67% jump in annual profit to €146 million (£103m).
The Eastern European carrier said it was confident profits would grow further this year as it plans to further increase its capacity. At the same time, it said lower fuel prices would be passed to customers in the form of lower fares.
The 11-year-old airline, which floated on the London Stock Exchange in February, said it expected to make a post-tax profit of €165 million to €175 million in the current financial year to March 31 2016.
It plans to continue expanding its capacity in key central and Eastern European destinations, while lowering its costs.
Wizz Air has flights from Aberdeen, Bristol, Doncaster, Glasgow,. Liverpool and Luton.
