Wizz Air to bring cabin bag allowance in line with rivals
Wizz Air is bringing its cabin bag allowance in line with its low-cost rivals from October 29.
Passengers will be able to take a ‘large’ cabin bag (55x40x23cm) for free as part of the basic fare.
At present, the free allowance is restricted to bags of 40x30x18cm. To take on a larger bag it costs £16.50.
The airline said it had listened to customer feedback and had decided to make the changes.
In addition, it is introducing a new fare level – Wizz Priority – which gives passengers priority boarding and the option to take the larger cabin bag, plus an additional small bag (40x30x18cm), along with a guarantee that all hand luggage will be placed in the cabin.
This costs €5-€10 when purchased online or through the Wizz Air Call Centre and €25 if you buy the service at the airport.
The two-bag allowance also applies to passengers who opt for WIZZ Go, WIZZ Plus and the WIZZ Privilege Pass.
