World Trade Center museum feud resolved
September 11, 2012 was supposed to be the opening date of the National September 11 Museum.
Instead, museum director, Alice Greenwald presented the press and 9/11 families with a hopeful preview of the museum’s heart-wrenching "In Memorium" exhibition.
The announcement of the new exhibition came at the same time as a barrage of press about the ongoing feud Museum organizers have had with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the legal owners of the property at the site. At issue is money and responsibility.
The two sides finally thrashed out their disagreement on the eve of September 11 and construction on the museum is now set to go forward with the agreement that funding for the museum would not come from increased taxes or tolls.
