World’s most comprehensive travel guide given high grades
Response to the recently launched ProfessionalTravelGuide.com, which provides objective travel information that was formerly available only to professionals, has been highly favorable.
Why another travel information web site? A simple answer, says Peter Nicas, CEO and Editor-in-Chief.
“ProfessionalTravelGuide.com is completely different from any other travel web site. Our goal is to provide the best and most comprehensive travel information available anywhere. We are not interested in handling transactions. We also don’t offer user-generated reviews,” he said.
Features of the site include:
· What Mr Nicas calls the “world’s largest and most complete hotel data base” with 159,000 hotels worldwide.
· Ten thousand in-depth and unbiased hotel reviews and 6,500 restaurant reviews.
· Free in-depth guides to 7,000 worldwide destinations including sightseeing information, overviews, calendars, nightlife, shopping and more.
· Interactive three-dimensional maps.
· Personalized eGuidebooks.
The site is written by professional travel journalists and draws its content from the industry’s leading data bases, including Star Service hotel reviews, Weissmann Professional Destination Reports, Hotel & Travel Index and Officials Meeting Facilities Guide, among others.
The site’s editorial team includes 30 industry experts and a network of more than 200 global travel correspondents.
“From the first steps out your front door to arrival at your destination, activities, accommodations and more, you can construct your perfect trip as you go,” said a blogger on Profy. She added:
“The home page also offers a featured destination or accommodation. This is a nice feature, since they concentrate on hotels and places off the beaten path.”
