WTM set to break records

Tuesday, 21 Oct, 2005 0

More than 120 new exhibitors have signed up for this year’s World Travel Market.

WTM will see an increase of more than 3% in exhibitor space at the ExCel exhibition centre in London’s Docklands on November 14-17.

Participants include more than 5,000 national tourist offices, industry organisations, tour operators, hotels, cruise lines, airlines, other transport operators and technology companies from over 190 countries.

The show, which last year attracted 45,000 participants, has attracted 123 new exhibitors for 2005. These include Kuoni Travel, Etihad Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Cendant, Thistle Hotels and Somak Travel.

Group exhibition director Fiona Jeffery said: “Since the dark days of 9/11 and the many natural and man-made challenges that have faced the international industry since then, there has been a concerted and universal acknowledgement of WTM’s role in helping companies and organisations to build business, identify new markets and keep abreast of the latest industry developments.”
