Wyndham expands into Holland
A hotel with a private harbour has become the first Wyndham brand property in Holland.
The 223-room Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam will undergo major renovation under its new name, the Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam.
The property is located on a position in the city where five canals converege and has its own harbour offering dinner and cocktail cruises on a classic "salon" boat.
The move means that the Wyndham Hotel Group portfolio in Europe comprises 232 hotels across six brands.
The Amsterdam hotle joins the luxury Wydham Grand London Chelsea Harbour in the UK and Corinthia hotels in Hungary, Portugal and the Czech Republic.
Wynham properties are either franchised or managed by the company or through a joint venture.
The 50 year old Amsterdam hotel is the flagship of Apollo Hotels & Resorts which is owned by Dutch company, Euroepan Hotel Management.
Wyndham president Eric Danziger said: "This hotel strengthens our our global distribution and will provide international travellers with an outstanding destination when they visit the Netherlands."
