A marketing executive at crowdsourced review site Yelp has died while on vacation hiking in Arizona.

Colleen Burns, 35, fell 400 feet off a cliff at Grand Canyon National Park while posing for a group photo at sunrise with friends.

Her body was recovered by park rangers below Ooh-Aah Point, a popular spot close to the South Kaibab Trail.

Burns’ employer Yelp released a statement saying: "We are heartbroken but thankful to have been shaped by her passion and joy for life."

She had been at the company since 2009 and launched the Yelp community in Orlando several years ago.

Officials from the National Park Service and the medical examiner’s office are investigating.
