YHA New Zealand shutting down all hostels

The Youth Hostel Association of New Zealand (YHA) said it will close down all its hostels across the country. It sees the closure of 11 hostels due to two years without international backpackers.
The YHA National Board says there is ‘no option but to permanently close the doors’ after nearly 90 years.
It said it shifted toward domestic travellers and family travel and did well, but not well enough to stay afloat.
