Yotel plans new hotel in Boston
Micro hotel concept Yotel plans to open a new 326-key property in Boston, slated for a 2017 opening.
Boston will become the UK based company’s fifth US destination following its debut in New York in 2011 and planned openings in Miami, Williamsburg in Brooklyn and San Francisco.
Yotel Boston will be located close to the Harbor in the Innovation District and is being developed by Boston Global Investors (BGI).
The hotel will have premium cabins with signature features including adjustable ‘SmartBeds’ , monsoon rain showers and a techno-wall with smart TVs.
Several food and beverage venues are planned for the ground floor and semi open roof terrace providing ‘flexible environments which encourage co-working, casual meetings and social gatherings,’ the company said in a release.
The Yotel concept offers compact cabin style accommodation and about 10% of inventory in Boston will be classed as ‘first class’ cabins measuring up to 250 square feet, said Jason Brown, Yotel’s chief development officer.
The company also operates three airport hotels at London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol with further openings planned for Paris, Dubai and Singapore.
