Young Australian in Phuket death plunge
A young Australian plunged to his death on New Year’s Eve from a fourth floor balcony of a hotel on the Thai holiday island of Phuket.
The Melbourne man, aged 21, was found on concrete outside the four-star Andaman Beach Suites Hotel.
Paramedics treated him on the spot before rushing him to Patong Hospital.
The Phuket Wan newswire said doctors decided the man needed specialist treatment and he was transferred to Bangkok Hospital Phuket, in Phuket City on the other side of the island.
He died from his injuries on the way or soon after arriving, a Patong police officer told local media.
