Young British tourist falls to death at canyon
Police are investigating the death of a young British woman who fell from the Rim Walk at Kings Canyon in central Australia.
The woman, who was with a tour group, may have been taking a photograph when she fell 30m, local media reported.
A Northern Territory police superintendent told Daily Mail Australia the woman was walking alone at the time of the accident.
The Northern Territory’s Parks and Wildlife Commission has defended the safety of the walking track.
Central Australian Parks director Chris Day said there had been minor falls at the spot in the past but more than 200,000 people finish the track safely every year.
