Zookeeper killed by lions in front of tourists at Bangkok safari park
A zookeeper in Thailand has been mauled to death in front of horrified tourists.
He was killed by a pack of lions at Safari World Bangkok after stepping out of his vehicle.
He has been named as Jian Rangkharasamee, 58.
Local police said Rangkharasamee apparently exited his vehicle to pick up an item off the ground.
A lion then attacked him and others then joined in.
The attack happened in the drive through lion viewing area.
Tourists in vehicles honked their horns and shouted for immediate assistance.
The attack continued for about 15 minutes before another zookeeper arrived.
