Zuji survey exposes hotel guest secrets

Friday, 10 Oct, 2012 0

Beware the baby boomers.

In a survey of hotel habits, online travel agent, ZUJI.com.au found one in four Aussies confess to holding parties in their hotel room, almost a quarter have run naked in public areas of a hotel and, embarrassingly, 70% admit to taking 10 minutes to figure out how to turn on a hotel shower.

James Gaskell, managing director of ZUJI Australia and APAC, says the survey saw more than 1,000 respondents weigh in on their hotel habits, hang-ups and secrets.

"Surprisingly, the naughtiest age group we found were those aged 45-55. The results of our survey consistently showed that this demographic was the most likely to have done a ‘nudie run’ and hold room parties," said Gaskell.

The results also show that travellers tend to let their concerns about the environment relax when staying in a hotel.

Respondents admitted to getting an extra key cut to keep the air-con running all day, taking long showers and getting their towels washed every day.
