Celestyal to broadcast World Cup matches onboard

Celestyal has announced that it will broadcast FIFA World Cup matches live in public areas on both of its ships, Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey, this summer.

The World Cup will take place across the USA, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

Games will be shown in venues including the Martini Lounge, Galazio Bar and Halara Bar on Celestyal Journey, and in Café Nation and the Star Bar & Lounge on Celestyal Discovery. Full venue details and match timings will be confirmed on a cruise-by-cruise basis through each ship’s daily programme.

Lee Haslett, chief commercial officer at Celestyal, said: “The World Cup is one of those rare events that brings people together, and we know many of our guests will want to follow their team while they are away.

“At Celestyal, we are all about creating unmissable experiences both at sea and ashore, so making the matches available in our public spaces is a natural addition to the onboard atmosphere. Whether guests are sailing through the Greek Islands, Adriatic or Mediterranean, they can enjoy their holiday, connect with fellow fans and still be part of the excitement of the tournament.”

The 2026 World Cup will be the largest in history, with 48 teams competing across 104 matches.
