2,000 passengers hit by Eurostar delays as trespassers get onto trains

Tuesday, 02 Sep, 2015 0

Eurostar cancelled two services this morning, one from London to Paris and one from Paris to London, after a night of disruption in which up to 2,000 passengers were delayed.

Six Eurostar trains were held up last night due to trespassers on the tracks near the Channel Tunnel in France.

Two trains – one to Paris and one to London – were forced to turn back due to fears there were migrants clinging to the train roofs, trying to get to the UK

Passengers’ woes were further compounded when one London-bound train suffered a technical fault and couldn’t get back to Paris, leaving passengers stranded.

Eurostar said up to 2,000 passengers were affected by the delays last night.
