Globus is inviting Aussie travellers to slip on their blue suede shoes for a visit to Memphis and Nashville next August to mark the 30th anniversary of the passing of Elvis.

The seven-day tour headlines Globus’ new action-packed US and Canada 2007 brochure, and includes a raft of rock ‘n’ roll activities based around “Elvis Week” from August 15-21 for $1929 per person twin share.

The new Globus brochure also features the chance to take part in several other special events including:

five days at the high-flying Albuquerque Balloon Festival from October 5-9 for $1479 pp twin share;

five days at the colourful Tournament of Roses in Los Angeles from December 30 to January 3 for $1769 pp twin share, and;

four action-packed days at the legendary Calgary Stampede in mid-July for $1169 pp twin share (with the opportunity to combine with a tour of the Canadian Rockies).

Globus National Marketing Manager Fiona Watson said the company’s positioning as the world’s largest and most experienced escorted tour operator enabled it to come up with the most interesting itineraries and best deals for its customers.

“With a Globus tour, all the travel and accommodation arrangements are taken care of so that our customers can relax in first-class comfort and discover the essence of the destination with the help of our expert tour guides, yet still have plenty of free time.”

Ms Watson said the Globus US and Canada 2007 brochure featured almost 50 tour options, including a range of new offerings such as:

Eight days seeing the best of South America, beginning with three nights in Brazil’s incomparable Rio De Janeiro before jetting south via magnificent Iguassu Falls to the “Paris of South America” – the Argentine capital Buenos Aires –  priced from $2939 pp twin share.
