$44 air fares…no, $39

Monday, 06 Jul, 2004 0

Both Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways announced summer sales.

AirTran fares start as low as $44 each way.

Their sale is only good, however, through 15 July, for travel through 17, November of this year. The offer is not good for travel on Fridays and Sundays.

In common with all AirTran Airways fares, prices in the sale are one-way tickets and do not require a roundtrip purchase of a Saturday stay.

Sample fares include Newport News/Williamsburg-Boston, $44; Tampa-Atlanta, $80; and Akron/Canton-Orlando, $89.

Southwest discount fares go as low as $39, one way between Burbank and Oakland, or between Baltimore/Washington and Long Island Islip.

There’s a $49 one-way fare between various cities, including Albany and Jacksonville, and a $79 fare one way from Albuquerque to Tampa Bay. The highest new fares are $99.

In the case of Southwest, the fares are available seven days a week. With some exceptions, the fares are now available and are valid for travel from 16 August through 30 September. Seats are limited, and there are other conditions.
