A first in travel insurance?
CSA Travel Protection says it is offering a first: full insurance refunds if a planned trip is cancelled for any reason at all, ranging from terrorism to emergency medical situations or supplier defaults. “CSA’s Return of Premium Option guarantee that at a minimum, insured travelers will be refunded the cost of their CSA WebDirect insurance premium if they cancel their trip for any reason – covered or not,” said Claudia Fullerton, CPP of CSA. If a trip is cancelled due to a covered reason beyond a traveler’s control, she said, they will receive insurance premium back as well as their claim. The Return of Premium Option, which Ms Fullerton said is a first in the market, costs 10% of the CSA Web Direct gross premium. She said CSA came up with the plan in response to consumer demand. Details of the plan are available at www.InsureMyTrip.com. –Report by David Wilkening–
